Description
A sprained ankle heals better and faster when the patient uses the injured ankle, while protecting it at the same time. Aircast pioneered the functional management of ankle sprains by developing the Air-Stirrup. The Air-Stirrup Ankle Brace is the brace that made functional management practical. It is perhaps the most widely used brace in orthopedics. More than 25 published studies document its efficacy and versatility with sprains, fractures, and chronic instability. Air-Stirrup Ankle Braces are made in five models. Because of the conformability of the aircells, there is a wide overlap among the models recommended for indication and patient size. Ankle Brace Model Sizes Training (02B): preferred for chronic instability with most adults. It offers support for the patient who has had an injury in the past and continues to suffer chronic ankle problems.
